Jessica Wiarda is a matrilineal member of the Hopi tribe from the Deer clan that resides in Polacca, Arizona. Her mother would take her to the Hopi reservation and has fond memories of watching her Hopi grandfather carve Kachina dolls out of cottonwood.

She's inspired by the geometric yet organic nature of Hopi art, especially Hopi pottery. The Hopi tribe have kept their culture intact by living on top of the isolated mesas of northern Arizona and are one of the most secretive tribes regarding their knowledge and traditions.

Jessica creates designs that Hopi and non-Hopi can enjoy. These designs are meant to be shared by anyone interested in Hopi culture.
